Ditu is Di-Lightful!

This is Ditu (pronounced "dee-too"), a VERY clean, very well loved pup (this is also Amalia's knee, getting up close for a good shot!):

Ditu's fur held up great to the washer, but we can't say the same about the inside fluff!

So, a bit of restuffing... (always find the least conspicuous seam!)

And... Voila!!! Is that a smile we see on Ditu's face???

Thanks for visiting - you're a super cute pup!

How Cute is this Turtle??

A recent quick fix for this adorable turtle - we hadn't ever seen a lovey quite like this one, but it's pretty cool!  The turtle can come out of it's shell, but the stitching on one side broke, leaving Turtle homeless:

We did a quick stitch-up job, and Turtle is cozy warm again.

Thanks for stopping by, Turtle!

The Jolly Roger

Ok, he's not a pirate.  But Amalia came up with the pun, so who can resist! Roger was a baby shower gift from 30 years ago in celebration of his owner's birth - she loved him so much over the years that he needed a bit of TLC and a spa treatment!

It was hard to capture Roger's floppiness and general need for restuffing with just a picture, so we took a video instead:

He also needed a bath.  Actually, 9 baths:

And then a bit of conditioner:

Some new fluff, and a good brushing, and..

Tada!  Pretty spiffy, if we do say so ourselves!

Scotch Needs Tape (or at least, some sewing!)

Scotch needed a bath and some repairs to a split seam.

So, first step was to remove all of his old stuffing.  We've learned that you never quite know what you'll find inside a stuffed animal, but this was the first time we've had a lovey who's insides matched his outsides!

Scotch was full of fabric scraps, cotton balls, and even some paper.  We quickly disposed of it and gave him a bath.  Then we restuffed and sewed him, and he's as good as new (even if his poly-fill insides are slightly less glamourous!)

"He was really matted until we brushed him," said Amalia, President of NYC Lovey Repair. "I like him so much better now that he's fluffy!"

La Belle LaMutt!

LaMutt needed some simple seam repairs, a bit of fluff, sure....

But what really did the trick was a pair of shiny new eyes!

Elle est très belle!!!  Thanks for visiting!

On the Fritz no More!

Fritz is on the fritz no more!  Fritz arrived "all broken - he was hardly a stuffed animal" said Amalia, President of NYC Lovey Repair.  But his owner adores him and wanted to see if we could fix him up! "We made him a new body but left the arms and head.  We also gave him eyes (and found an old one dangling in his body!)  Then we fixed his holes and voila! He's as good as new!"

We think it looks a bit like he's in a new pair of pajamas.
